Polystyrene-Made Transport Cases and Boxes to Gain Prominence in 2019

Manufacturers in transport cases and boxes market are taking immense efforts in developing sleeve transport boxes, in order to cater to the ever-increasing specific customer needs. Such transport boxes feature four-side closing and opening with transparent view section incorporated in the packaging. Most of all, the sleeve-type transport boxes are expected to be formed with aluminum frames, benefitting exceptionally heavy goods. In addition, manufacturers are also striving towards developing transport cases and boxes that utilize reduced material as well as helps in decreasing cost of energy, thereby holding immense potential in offering higher output speeds.

Recently, a Spanish designer created light-weight hexagonal stools with the help of plastic waste from polystyrene transport boxes. With growing focus on zero-waste policy, the designer planned to explore the benefits of polystyrene box materials that are utilized for transporting and storing food for making innovative stools. The polystyrene boxes are shredded into raw materials and are compacted into mould. Eco-friendly coating is utilized that offers water-tightness and rigidity, thereby making the stools highly beneficial for outdoor usage.

Germany-based packaging provider, MOSCA GmbH recently developed EVOLUTION SoniXs MS-6-VA, an all-new corrosion-resistant strapping machine, featuring side sealing unit, benefitting food industry in particular. The new technology is highly beneficial for usage even in extreme conditions such as on-board seagoing vessels and in automated food production lines, where the new machines help in effectively strapping packages such as food-filled polystyrene transport boxes. This helps in lesser susceptibility to contamination from the falling particles such as foodstuffs, ice and polystyrene from the transport boxes. Most of all. The sealing unit eliminates the need for generating thermal heat while strapping of polystyrene transport boxes.

Sustainability to Remain the Key to Future Developments

With many pubs, restaurants, cafes and bars taking out plastic straws owing to their crucial impact on environment, UK’s Cardiff pizza restaurant takes up a major initiative of making an eco-friendly move by reusing pizza boxes. The restaurant is planning to offer its pizzas in transport cases that is made up of aluminum, in order to eliminate the increasing food contamination cases. The light transport cases meant for delivering pizzas comes with life-time guarantee and can be replaced in times of damage.

New Aluminium Transport Case for Electronic Components

European solution provider ZARGES GmbH, recently introduced a K470 Battery Box aluminium case for safekeeping and transporting lithium-ion batteries. The company has taken this initiative of developing the aluminium transport case, mainly for expanding its product portfolio, thereby catering to the growing demand of its customer-base. With increasing usage of lithium-ion batteries in automotive industry, mainly due to surging number of electric cars, production of aluminium transport cases is expected to increase at a larger extent. Apart from this, increasing demand is witnessed for transport cases that helps in preventing spread of fire.

Corrugated Packaging Gain Preference in Transport Cases and Boxes

With increasing number of businesses scrutinized for environmental impact, demand for sustainable packaging for transport cases and boxes increases. Especially with regards to shipments, brands are considering and checking on environmental impacts of the materials that they use along with growing focus on carbon footprint reduction. Consumers are demanding for innovative eco-friendly solutions, due to which, brands are leveraging the benefits of sustainable packaging, thereby making transport cases and boxes safe for use across various applications such as chemicals transport, automotive and mechanical parts transport, medical and the fire safety equipment transport, to mention a few. Rather than producing transport cases with the help of 100% virgin materials, most of the corrugated manufacturers are working towards developing cases and boxes from the locally sourced recycled contents. This in turn helps in minimizing environmental damage caused due to excessive transportation.
